QI submitted my application, but the payment pop-up didn’t appear. What should I do?APlease try switching to Chrome or other browser. Make sure pop-ups are allowed, then refresh the page and resubmit your application. This should trigger the payment page. If the issue persists after trying these steps, please let us know.

QDo I need to submit an official transcript?AYes, we only accept official transcripts, so please ensure that your transcript meets this requirement. You may submit either an official transcript or an unofficial transcript certified by your coordinator or advisor. An official transcript must include your home institution's stamp or signature.

QWhen should I submit the health form and proof of insurance?AYou must submit the health form after completing your tuition payment and being accepted into the program. The designated health form, available on IO homepage ‘MyPage’, is required for dormitory residence.

QI’m interested in the research program. What research areas can I choose from?AYou can find the list of available labs and projects at Programs > Research Program. Students can select up to five preferred labs based on their interests. Lab assignments will be made after acceptance.

QCan I stay off-campus with my friends during the summer school?ANo, all participants are required to stay in the dormitory throughout the program. The program fee covers accommodation, orientation, a farewell dinner, and a field trip.

QCan I use my preferred name on the application?ANo, your name must match the name on your passport. Please double-check your last name, first name, and middle name before submitting your application.

QI want to apply for a tuition exemption but don’t know if my university has a partnership with KAIST. What should I do?APlease check with the international office at your home university regarding KAIST’s partnership status and tuition waivers.

QWhat is included in the program fee?AThe program fee is 900,000 KRW and covers accommodation, orientation, a farewell dinner, and a field trip.

QWhat type of visa do I need after acceptance?AYou must apply for a D-2-5 research exchange student visa at the nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate. Once student is accepted and completed the payment, KAIST will provide the necessary documents:
1. Certificate of Admission (signed by the KAIST President)
2. Invitation Letter
3. Certificate of Business Registration
